What is Regenerative Injection Therapy?

The term Regenerative Injection Therapy (RIT) was introduced by Felix Linetsky MD in 1999. RIT is defined as a treatment for painful degenerative connective tissue diathesis utilizing chemical or biologic agents. This definition is based on the current understanding of the pathology and the healing process. RIT is a very effective treatment for connective tissue injuries or degeneration such as a frail ligaments or tendons because RIT injections trigger the body to naturally heal damaged structures. It was also recently discovered that RIT Prolotherapy can restore damaged cartilage in addition to ligaments and tendons.
